What was the most exciting thing to happen at or to your company last year?2018 was a record year of growth for Broadstaff. We experienced a great deal of adversity last year. I am so proud of our team. We came together, united on one vision, and we had a record year despite the massive challenges that could have closed our doors. Last year, we overcame and rose to new heights.

As one of the fastest-growing companies in the area, what’s the secret to your growth? Or in other words, how did you do it? There are many elements that make a business successful. The one thing we focus on is people. At Broadstaff, we place people first. We value relationships above all else. In helping others reach their goals, we are able to reach ours. Our clients, candidates, contractors and internal employees all matter. We go over and above to help people be successful – whether that is building their teams, finding their dream job or being happy at work every day.

Customer service is not enough, we want to empower others with the best resources to excel and grow in their companies and their lives. Our mission is about connecting people to new possibilities. This is the foundation of our success: Making a difference and making people happy!

What is your No. 1 priority for the year ahead? At Broadstaff, our No. 1 priority is growing our internal recruiting team to serve our clients better. The unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been in 50 years. Every company in America is struggling to find good people – both contractors and full-time employees. We have invested in the best talent, artificial intelligence and industry training programs to help us be more efficient and effective.

What scares you the most about the year ahead? I have a sign in our office that says, “transform your fear into faith.” I believe if you feel no fear, your goals are not big enough.

Technology is changing the way we live and work. Companies are experiencing exponential growth, yet at the same time, are challenged with finding qualified people. Because of the rapid changes in technology, the skills gap is widening and the talent shortage is deepening. Broadstaff is a smart solution to help companies find qualified talent faster, improve efficiency and control costs. I had a meeting with my leadership team recently. I said, we are growing rapidly this year to meet the demands of our clients. It will feel scary and uncomfortable. But every time you feel fear, transform it into faith. What we believe together, we will achieve together.

What are some of the growing pains you have experienced? We had a major challenge in 2018 that tested our resilience. We experienced a change in leadership halfway through the year. This was a significant distraction that caused uncertainty within our team. We were determined to rise above this challenge and soar to new levels. The new leadership aligned with an inspiring vision for the future of Broadstaff and empowered our team with this vision. One of our leaders said it best, “We managed to refuel a jet in midair.” Broadstaff is thriving under the new leadership with explosive growth in 2019.
